Via ferrata des gorges d'ailefroide
Imagine a grandiose setting, carved into the heart of the Écrins Massif. The Gorges d’Ailefroide via ferrata is no ordinary vertical hike: it is a true sensory immersion, a suspended journey just above the tumultuous, turquoise waters of the torrent.
A Unique "Water and Rock" Atmosphere
From the very first meters, the tone is set. You climb along the cliffside in a narrow gorge where the roaring torrent echoes against the rock. In the height of summer, the site offers an incredible natural freshness. The contrast is striking between the powerful gray of the granite, the green of the larch trees, and the clarity of the water bubbling just a few meters beneath your feet.
A Multi-Part Route Where Everyone Can Choose Their Tailor-Made Difficulty
The great strength of this via ferrata is its progressive nature. It adapts to your craving for sensations thanks to several independent sections.
At once fun, easy, but also—if you wish—sporty and thrilling, you will cross suspended walkways, beams, and a monkey bridge straddling the void. It is dynamic, visual, and perfect for building confidence. A first escape route allows you to head back if you've already had your fill of adrenaline.
The return is a leisurely 15 to 20-minute walk along a forest trail, leaving you with a smile on your face and your mind still perched high on the cliffside.
Minimum height 1m35 - 10 years old
The atmosphere is wild and offers an 360° panorama of the Vallouise valley and the surrounding peaks.
