Durance Gorges Via Ferrata - BLACK
This is the longest via ferrata in the gorge (taking about 4 hours with a group of 8).
It consists of two routes: a green "discovery" course for warming up, followed by a black course that is athletic and high-exposure.
The Black Course (Ages 14+ and minimum height 1.50m): Calling all thrill-seekers! This athletic route delivers maximum excitement and height, offering spectacular views.
Located at the gateway to the magnificent Écrins National Park, this site is a true vertical paradise where adrenaline meets the wild beauty of nature. Here, you conquer the dizzying heights as you traverse the rock face and cross impressive suspension bridges—aerial balconies hovering over the canyon. If you want to challenge the heights safely, get ready for a feast for the eyes!
Why you’ll love it:
No endless approach hike: The starting point is right next to the parking lot. Gear up and start climbing immediately!
The natural setting: The contrast between the golden limestone and the rushing waters of the Durance River below is simply stunning.
Reward after the effort: The site features a shaded refreshment area by the water (perfect for a drink or a snack) and a swimming area to cool off after your climb.
